Karl, I wonder how tragic this year was compared to, say, 2001? I suppose we can't judge that until we have the distance of history. It strikes me we began this decade with an acute blow that dealt us a chronic disease. Yet, many of us have flourished personally. So every year is hard to assess when you're so close to it.
